Số liệu thống kê của Tổng cục Hải quan cho biết, thương mại song phương giữa Việt Nam và CHLB Đức 6 tháng đầu năm 2013 đạt 3,695 tỷ USD, tăng 29,51% so với cùng kỳ năm 2012.
Trong đó, xuất khẩu của Việt Nam sang CHLB Đức đạt 2,352 tỷ USD, tăng 22,35% so với cùng kỳ năm 2012 và chiếm 18% trong tổng số hàng Việt Nam xuất khẩu vào EU. Nhập khẩu hàng hóa của Việt Nam từ Đức đạt 1,342 tỷ USD, tăng 44,32%.
Trong các mặt hàng chính của Việt Nam xuất sang CHLB Đức thì điện thoại các loại và linh kiện chiếm kim ngạch lớn nhất, đạt 873.491.232 USD.Tiếp đến là hàng dệt may 279.443.193 USD, cà phê 223.709.902 USD, giày dép các loại 197.510.428 USD…
Các mặt hàng chính Việt Nam nhập khẩu từ Đức gồm: phương tiện vận tải và phụ tùng (486.860.742 USD), máy móc thiết bị, dụng cụ và phụ tùng (379.602.426 USD), sản phẩm hóa chất (52.760.393 USD), ô tô các loại (29.127.961 USD)…
