PVCFCo and Solvay Group sign MoU in producing high-quality urea

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Company (PVCFC) and Belgium’s Solvay Group was singed on November 2.

The MoU related to develop solutions to effectively use urea in agricultural production. The two firms aim to produce an environmentally friendly product that benefits plants. Solvay Group from Belgium is a global firm specializing in chemical solutions.

Under the MoU, the two sides will produce urea products covered with N Dual protective layers in line with European standards by using the Ca Mau Nitrate Plant’s modern technologies. These urea products are expected to improve the efficiency of nitrate.

The signing of the MoU is part of PVCFC’s efforts to realise its product diversification target, contributing to promoting sustainable agriculture development in Vietnam.

PVCFC General Director Bui Minh Tien stressed his company plans to diversify its fertilizer products, especially those produced with advanced technologies.

The partnership is expected to enable the company to accelerate the production of new products, helping Vietnamese farmers improve their incomes, and contributing to environmental protection, he stressed.

On his part, Regional Director for Solvay in Asia Pacific Martin Laudenbach said as the leading chemical and materials producer in the world, Solvay works to support its customers in realizing their innovation and development targets. It also supplies solutions that help save energy and minimize CO2 emissions, he added.

Solvay, through hosting the “Solvay Innovation Day 2016” in Vietnam, hopes to access more business opportunities from Vietnam ’s oil and gas, and chemical industries.
